Co-founder and since 1988 director and partner of empirica Gesellschaft für Kommunikations- und Technologieforschung mbH together with Simon Robinson. Before researcher at empirica being a daughter company of Infratest (Bonn, München) (1984-1988) and at ABT Forschung GmbH, the European branch office of ABT Associates Inc., Cambridge, MA (1983-1984) and research assitant in a DFG project at the Sonderforschungsbereich 164 at the Westfälische-Wilhelms-University Münster (1979-1983)
Current focus
Coordinator of international projects on monitoring and benchmarking the information society (e.g. eHealth Benchmarking, eHealth Indicators, SIBIS), e-skills development and certification (e-Skills Policy), user-orientation of online public service (eUser), Silver Economy in Europe (SEN@ER) and the development and implementation of innovative models for the employment of elderly workers at SAP, Deutsche Bank and Continentale (Active@Work).
